William Porter

William Porter, age 93, a resident of Oxford, formerly of Royal Oak, died April 28, 2009 at Lake Orion Nursing Center. He was born January 31, 1916 in Galt, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Porter was a former inspector for Chrysler Corp. He is survived by his children, Mary Jo Michael Harkey of Lake Orion, Diann Gary Kochis of Oxford, John Sharon Collins of Rochester, Beverly Edward Boerkoel of Royal Oak and Richard Claire Collins of Northport; his sister, Jean Ernest; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Porter, on February 26, 2005; his parents, William and Elizabeth Porter; and siblings, Mary, Andrew and Betty. Memorial visitation will be Thursday 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with Deacon Brian Carroll officiating. Inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
