William McNamara Jr

William I. McNamara Jr., age 92, a resident of the Royal Oak and Berkley areas for the past 88 years, died April 4, 2011 at Providence Hospital in Southfield. He was born July 27, 1918 in Providence, RI to the late William and Anna McNamara. Mr. McNamara was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 1976 from Ford Motor Co. after 43 years working as a supervisor in the Quality Control Department. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and belonged to the Dearborn Frame Plant Survivors. Beloved husband of Muriel A. Trevarrow McNamara and the late Helen V. Shaw McNamara. Loving father of Sharon L. Bob Toms of Holly, JoAnn James Shapton of Greenville, MI and the late Bill T. Roberts. Dear brother of the late Ross McNamara. Brother-in-law of Helen McNamara. Proud grandfather of Robert Mary Shapton, William Shapton, Matthew Shawn Shapton, Jennifer Toms, Michelle Roberts and Tom Jenny Roberts. Great grandfather of Allison, Travis, Caraline, Stephanie, Reagan, Birdgeen and Oliver. There will be a memorial visitation Friday 12 noon until the time of the memorial service 2 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Inurnment at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
