William Griffin

Griffin, William Chester, born January 20, 1924 in River Rouge, died June 14, 2010. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Mazanka Griffin and brother, John Geraldine. Father of Nancy Jim, Bill Mary, John Joan and James. Grandfather of Sarah, Suzanne, Steven, Amy, Nathan, Emily, Monica, Laura, Nicholas and Carter. William served with the 96th Infantry Division Deadeyes in World War II; was a chemical and mechanical engineer; graduate of Michigan State University; and an amateur pianist. Visitation Friday 4:30 p.m. until time of funeral service 8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Interment service Saturday 10 a.m. at Guardian Angels Cemetery, Oakland Township. Memorials to Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan appreciated.
