Willa M. Collins, age 75, a resident of Clawson, formerly of Ferndale, died March 4, 2010 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac. She was born March 6, 1934 in Coolmont Township, TN. Mrs. Collins worked at Southfield Christian High School for eight years. She graduated from Schoolcraft College Culinary Arts program. She then worked as a chef at the Westin Hotel in Detroit for 14 years, where she prepared meals for President Clinton during his stay. She is survived by her children, Della Slosar and Samuel Collins; sister, Margie Felton; and grandchildren, Ryan Collins, Tom and Andy Darbyshire, Chelsey and Shelby Slosar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Collins, on June 17, 1981; and siblings, Irene Pickett, Mitchell, Hamon and Sidney Johnson. The visitation will be Friday 11 a.m. until the time of service 1 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev. Dale Hunter officiating. The burial will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
