Funeral services for Wilbert R. Pringle, Sr., 92, of Napoleon, Ohio will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 18th at Upton United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Hagerman officiating. Burial will follow at Upton Greenwood Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle, Wyoming. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Mr. Pringle died Thursday evening, July 12th at his residence.
Wilbert was born March 14, 1915 at Sand Lake, Michigan the on of Homer and Margaret Osgood Pringle. On June 25, 1933 he married Mary ?Madelyn? Pines.
He was an Aeronautical Engineer. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Wyoming. He helped with design and development of the first jet wing of the B?29. He also was employed by Howard Hughes as an engineer. He worked for Rockadyne, developing and testing rocket engines. He was the owner of the W. R. Pringle Co., Malinta, Ohio since 1969, where he was active in the manufacturing and sales of furnace cleaner. He also was a pilot.
He was a member of the Upton Methodist Church and the Upton Masonic Lodge #38, and the Shriners of Canton, Ohio. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, flying airplanes and enjoying his grandchildren and family.
Surviving him are his wife of Napoleon, Ohio; two daughters, Carolyn Brown of Napoleon, Ohio and Margaret Don Thomas of Pottsboro, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son Wilbert Pringle, Jr., two brothers, Homer Pringle, Jr., Luther Pringle, and one granddaughter.
