Wesley Atwood

Wesley J. Atwood, age 32, of Hazel Park, died June 1, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born April 9, 1977 in Royal Oak. Wesley graduated from Ferndale High School and attended Oakland Community College. He was employed at Oakland Dodge in Madison Heights. He enjoyed painting miniatures and loved to do art work. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie L. Strzalkowski Atwood, whom he married March 25, 2000 at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazel Park; children, Madison Atwood age 8 and Zane Atwood age 7; parents, Raymond and Merriechris Atwood; siblings, Wendy Richard Mathews of Clawson and James Atwood of Ferndale; father- and mother-in-law, Thomas and Charlene Strzalkowski of Ferndale; sisters-in-law, Rachel Strzalkowski and Clara Strzalkowski; grandmother-in-law, Carol Stokes; and his best friend, Virgil Niggemeyer. Visitation will be Saturday 5-9 p.m. and Sunday 12-9 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The service will be held on Monday 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Andridge officiating. The family would appreciate memorials to the Madison and Zane Atwood Educational Fund.
