Vieno Grivas

Vieno A. Grivas, age 87, a resident of Madison Heights, MI, died October 7, 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. She was born December 3, 1924 in Aura, Baraga County, MI to the late Emil and Hilda Keranen. Mrs. Grivas retired in 1989 from AT&T formerly Michigan Bell, where she was an operator for 20 years. She loved animals, but she especially loved her cats. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis, on February 14, 2005; the couple married July 1, 1950 in Detroit. She was the loving mother of John Lynne, Mary, Valerie and the late Barbara "Kiki". Proud grandmother of Terreena Kyte and Jonathan Kyte. Great grandmother of Travis Plowman. Mrs. Grivas will lie in state Wednesday 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 11 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal Oak. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association appreciated.
