Victor Marchione

Victor C. "Vic" Marchione, age 57, a member of the Utica City Council, died Friday, November 11, 2005, in University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born January 6, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Marchione, a resident of Utica for the past 29 years, had served two 4-year terms on the Utica City Council and was re-elected to a third term on November 8, 2005. He also served for 12 years on teh Utica Police Board and in 1989 he was named Citizen of the Year in Utica. He was employed for 34 years as a dealer-liaison representative for Ford Motor Company and was on the executive board and a trustee for United Auto Workers Local 400 for more than 20 years. He was a member of SanFrancesco Catholic Church in Clinton Township and a 32nd degree mason for Utica Masonic Lodge 75. He married Virginia Vestinar on October 26, 1968, in St. Benedict Catholic Church, in Highland Park, Michigan. Mr. Marchione is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virginia and son Christopher. His siblings: Anthony Jr. Christine of Clinton Township, Joseph Patricia of Warren, Lucyann Billy Taylor of Hazel Park, Leonard Mary of Shelby Township and Ralph Diane of Warren. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Frances; and sister, Josephine Monaco. Visitation is Tuesday 2:00pm-9:00pm and Wednesday 2:00pm-9:00pm with a Utica Fireman passing review service at 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, November 17, 2005; at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road 3 blks east of VanDyke Utica, with Father Guilio Schiavi of San Francesco Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester Hills, Michigan. Memorials contributions may be addressed to American Diabetes Association, Shriners, OR Utica Downtown Development District.
