Thurmon Knuckles, Jr.
February 10, 1939 -- April 12, 2012 Thurmon Knuckles Jr. T.K. to many! was called home to his Heavenly Father on April 12, 2012. He was born in West Virginia in February, 1939 to Thurmon and Evelyn Knuckles. His Father remarried and he was blessed with a loving second Mother, Juanita. At the time of his death, Thurmon resided in Madison Heights, Michigan but was a long time resident of Hazel Park. After being diagnosed with cancer, he spent his remaining time reminding his family and friends how very much they were loved. Always reassuring them he was doing just fine. Thurmon served in the U.S. Army. He met his wife Brenda in 1965 and together they raised three children. In 1968 he moved his family to Michigan from West Virginia. He took a position as a Master Mechanic at Trumbull Chevrolet, where he worked until moving to U.S. Truck Co. He was a proud member of the Teamsters. Thurmon's greatest passion and love was his family. He loved his Wife, Children and Grandchildren with every ounce of his being and always told them so. He enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He often shared stories of his adventures with his grandchildren. There was never a day when he did not have a joke or one of his humorous responses to a question he was asked. He never met a stranger and his friends were more like family to him. His heart and home were always open to anyone who needed a helping hand, a place to stay or somebody to talk with. He touched so many lives and that will be his legacy. Thurmon is survived by his Wife, Brenda, Daughters Sherri Beels and Husband Mike, Misty Bidinger and Husband Rich, Son David and Wife Wararat. Grandchildren: Justin, Adam, Jacob, MacKenzie and Great-Granddaughter, Adriana. Brother Jack Moreland and Sister Mae Smith of West Virginia and Brother Clifford Suranofsky of Texas. Brother in spirit, Dennis Adams of Kentucky. Many close friends and his protector and companion, Bruiser. Waiting in Heaven with open arms to welcome him are his Father Thurmon Knuckles Sr., Mother Evelyn, second Mother Juanita, Brothers Jim and Bobby and Mother-in-Law, Olive May.
