Thomas Joseph Perino, 50, of Newcastle, died Saturday, April 8th in his home on the ranch.
He was born November 30, 1955 in Hot Springs, SD. As a young boy he grew up on his family?s ranch near Newcastle and was educated in the Newcastle public schools.
On April 20, 1983, he married Janet Dotson. Since then, the couple made their home on the family ranch.
He served as a board member on the Weston County Fair Board and the Inyan Kara Grazing Association. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a member of the American Paint Horse Association. He was very active in fair and rodeo activities.
He was an avid team roper, and outstanding horseman, entertaining ring man, and a steward of the land. He took great care and pleasure in his family, friends, horses, cattle, and the ranch.
Survivors include his wife Janet, Newcastle; children Jill, Newcastle, Jared, Cheyenne, Logan, Ft. Bragg, NC; mother Victoria, Newcastle; brother Matt and his wife Donna, Newcastle; brother Leo Jr., Denver, CO; ?grandma? Charlotte Dotson Newcastle; nephew Wade and his wife Cassie, Newcastle; nephew Preston, Newcastle; niece Dana Perino McMahon and her husband Peter, Washington, D.C.; niece Angie Nour and her husband Jerry, Denver, CO; and a special great nephew Quint Perino, Newcastle.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Newcastle High School Auditorium.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Shuck, Russ Knight, Wade Perino, Nick Salter, jack Seeds, Tom Mohnen, and Joey Lissolo.
