Theresa Gaydos

Theresa Ann Kolonay Gaydos, 82, passed away February 1, 2012. She was born in Hastings, PA growing up in a family with her 11 brothers and sisters. She felt incredibly proud and blessed to be a part of such a special family. She married John Gaydos in 1951 and moved to Michigan in 1953, where she put her heart and soul into raising a family of her own. Her family grew to include daughter Margi Kleinsorge and son-in-law James, daughter Beverly Winkes and son-in-law Thomas, and daughter Joanne Marchena and son-in-law Patrick. Theresa was grandma to Jessica Kleinsorge Blocker and husband Jonathan, Emily Kleinsorge, Jennifer Winkes, and Sophie Marchena, and she was great-grandma to Jackson Blocker. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years John Gaydos, parents John and Elizabeth Sipos Kolonay, sister Margaret Kolonay Chervenak, brothers James and John Kolonay and great-grandson Ryan Blocker. Theresa had many interests and talents including baking, gardening, sewing, and crocheting. Everything she created was created with love... a bouquet of flowers from her garden, a handmade blanket, fresh baked cookies... she generously shared her creations with family and friends. Theresa was genuinely interested in other people and enjoyed listening to what they had to say. She always found the good in each person she met, and took the time to share a smile and a kind word. Theresa had a strong faith in God and carried that faith with her throughout her life. Her generous heart and spirit have always been an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Theresa's response to someone who told her they loved her was always "I love you more." WE love YOU more, and will hold you in our hearts everyday. Visitation Sunday 3-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home in Royal Oak. Funeral mass Monday 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen in Hazel Park.
