Sylvia Mathis

Sylvia C. Mathis, age 69, a Berkley resident since 1977, died Sunday, September 14, 2008 in West Bloomfield. She was born October 11, 1938 in Bannock, Ohio. Ms. Mathis loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing penny poker and Bingo and watching old movies with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Hal Lisa Mathis of Madison Heights; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Mathis; siblings, Rosemarie Hoffa of Las Vegas, NV and Frank Serafina Procopio of Clinton Township; and grandchildren, Brendan, Brittany, Tim, Niki and Shana. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryon Mathis. Visitation Thursday 2:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev. William Lawrence officiating. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
