Shirley Therkalsen

Shirley Helene Therkalsen nee Dube, age 83, a resident of Royal Oak, formerly of Detroit, died December 19, 2012 at her home. She was born February 17, 1929 in Detroit to the late Edgar and Corinne Dube. Mrs. Therkalsen was a member of the Royal Oak Garden Club and Friends of the Royal Oak Public Library. She is survived by her husband, Jim Therkalsen; the couple married August 27, 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak; children, Gregg Jamie Therkalsen, Mary Tom Mickus, Mike Denise Therkalsen and Steve Therkalsen; grandchildren, Jim, Scott, Kelly, Eric, Michael, Jennifer, Ryan and Kyle Therkalsen and Zachary Mickus; great-granddaughter, Lillie Therkalsen; and sister-in-law, Kay Dube. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Greg Dube and Robert Alice Dube. There will be memorial visitation Wednesday 6-9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at St. Columban Catholic Church in Birmingham.
