Mrs. Roberts died unexpectedly January 18th in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Shirley was born March 14, 1945, in Hays, Kansas to Earl and Wilma Remsburg Hopkins. She was raised in Newcastle and graduated from high school there.
On July 8, 1962, she married Roland K. Roberts. They made their first home in Osage, moving to Upton raising their family there. She moved to Gillette after Roland's death in 1993 and resided there until 2002 at which time she moved to Fort Collins to be closer to her children.
Shirley was an active member of the United Methodist Church and loved to perform in the choir. She operated a day care center for nearly 20 years and was proud to be a second mom to so many children in the community. She enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, sewing, dancing and her favorite passion was singing. She had a contagious laugh that lightened hearts.
Missing her terribly are those left behind including her four children and nine grandchildren: Jeff, Matthew and Joshua Roberts of Wright, WY; James, Rolyn, and Ryan Roberts of Glenwood Springs, CO; Kevin, Jennifer, Marissa and McKinley Shunn of Carrollton, GA; Jared, Isaiah, Jacariah and Stella Roberts of Woodland Park, CO; her sisters:
