Shirley Allen

Shirley M. Allen, age 78, a 25-year resident of Berkley, died June 23, 2008 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She was born January 17, 1930 in Detroit. Mrs. Allen was an active member of St. JohnÆs Episcopal Church, especially in the choir and the altar guild. She is survived by her children, Catherine Richard Fraser of Troy, Oliver K. Yong Ae Allen, Jr. of Jacksonville, AL, John Debbie Allen of Belding, Joseph Allen of Clinton Township, Susan Shetzler of Sterling Heights and Joanna Allen of Wilmington, DE; sister, Mary J. Robert Jezierski of Ferndale; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver "Ken", whom she wed November 15, 1954 in Indiana; and brother, Joseph B. Young, Jr.
