Shirlee Spurlock

Shirlee M. Spurlock McLaughlin, nee Creagh, age 83, a resident of Laguna Hills, CA, formerly of Royal Oak, MI died December 27, 2009 in Royal Oak. She was born August 13, 1926 in Detroit, MI. Mrs. Spurlock made her home in Detroit and Royal Oak prior to moving to California in 1976. She was a graduate of Southeastern High School and then attended Irvine College in Irvine, CA. She was a member of the Casta Del Sol, Ladies Golf League in California. She was also a former member of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Royal Oak. She was the beloved mother of Janice M. Gregory Despres of Shelby Township, MI, Gayle P. the late Roger Barker of Evendale, OH, Barbara J. Brodie Burton of Royal Oak, MI and Richard P. McLaughlin Jr. of Laguna Hills, CA; cherished daughter of the late Kenneth and Martha Creagh; dear sister of Elaine the late Miles Griffith of Grosse Pointe, MI, Patricia Peter Quinn of Arizona, the late Thelma Donald Hannah and the late Betty Tony Chopp; proud grandmother of Alyssa Ryan Crowder, Amy Todd Bultynck, Andrea Peardon, Bryan and Timothy Barker, and Bradley and Bret Burton; and great grandmother of Gracyn Alayne Bultynck. The visitation will be held Wednesday 1-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Spurlock will lie in state Thursday 11:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 12 noon at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Edward Prus officiating.
