Scott Larson

February 21, 1948 — June 30, 2006

Funeral services for Scott O. Larson, 57, of Newcastle will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, July 5th at the Newcastle Senior Center with Pastor Robert Decker officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle under direction of Worden Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 4th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Worden Chapel.

Mr. Larson died Friday, June 30th at Rapid City Regional Hospital after a short illness.

He was born February 22, 1949 at Laramie, Wyoming the son of Saul and Jene Spinus Larson. He was a graduate of Hot Springs County High School in Thermopolis, Wyoming before enlisting the the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E5 Sergeant. On February 12, 1977 he married Robin Decker at Worland, Wyoming. He was employed in the family business with his father at City Drug and Liquor in Thermopolis until moving to Newcastle, Wyoming where he managed Decker?s Food Center. He was a loving husband, father, brother and son and was happiest when around family, friends, and especially his grandchildren and dogs.

Scott was a past exalted Ruler for the ELKS Club #1746 in Thermopolis. He was also a member of the EAGLES Club. He was also an honorary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Carl Kummerle Post #9516 of Newcastle.

He is survived by his wife of twenty nine years, Robin; one son Saul Debi Larson and grandchildren Ricky and Cadence Larson all of Newcastle; one daughter Rachelle Williams of Nevada; his parents Jene and Saul Larson of Thermopolis; three sisters, Sharon Don Fink of Issaquah, WA, Cathy Duane Rush of Thermopolis, WY and Laree Michael Earl of Long Island, NY; and
adopted grandchildren, Alyssa Trayton and Johnna Dawson; many nieces, nephews and three special pets, Sugar, Sassy, and Nebbs.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents Jim and Catherine Spinus and Paternal grandparents Saul and Lottie Larson.
