Sarah Morisette

Sarah E. "Sally" Morisette, age 86, died March 23, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born June 1, 1922 in Detroit to Walter and Marion Grant. Sally grew up in Detroit and after graduating from Southeastern High School, went to work in the tool room at Jackson's Products, where she met John P. Morisette. The couple married June 1, 1942 at St. Rose's Church in Detroit. Sally was a dedicated wife and mother, and raised her family in Ferndale from 1948 until they moved to Royal Oak in 1975. After John's retirement, the couple moved from Royal Oak to Shelby Manor in Shelby Township. After John's illness in 2003, they moved to the American House-Oakland. Sally is survived by five of her six children, Gary Glenda Loyd Morisette of Shelby Township, Victoria James McCarthy of Rochester Hills, Christopher Morisette fiancée Cindy Meyers of Royal Oak, Grant Patti Swistek Morisette of Novi and Bradley Rebecca Rhodes Morisette of Clinton Township; 12 grandchildren, Darin Karrie Morisette, Traci Eddie Kopinski, Angela Mark Avripas, Cassandra Will McCarthy-Fogle, Sarah James Moore, Christina Alan DeHate, Tiffany Morisette, Gregory Morisette, Brian and Katie Morisette, Amanda and Bradley Morisette; and 12 great-grandchildren, Jillian and Mitchell Morisette, Peyton and Parker Kopinski, Ava and Zoe Avripas, Lily and Charles Fogle, Brittany and Morgan Moore, Benjamin and Victoria DeHate. She was preceded in death by her son, John W. Morisette; siblings, Walter Birdie Grant, Howard Marge Grant, Helen Russell Ohs, Harry Grant and Robert Alice Grant; and her parents, Walter and Marion Grant. Visitation will be Friday 4 - 9 p.m. and service Saturday 10 a.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Burial will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
