Ruth Isabell Liggett passed away peacefully on June 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruth was born in Gillette, Wyoming on November 4th 1949, to Dan and Fern Porter. She was the forth of seven children.
In 1969, Ruth married Larry Liggett, from this union three wonderful boys were born.
Throughout her life, Ruth worked several jobs, including working at the coal mine driving heavy equipment, residential painting, and on-location plumbing jobs, but the job she was the most proud of, was the job of mom and grandma. She wore that title with pride, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life!
Ruth was also a woman of many artistic talents, she loved to cook for large family gatherings, sewing and quilting beautiful blankets for her family members, and creating pinatas and various crafts for the grandchildren and great grandchildren's parties. Ruth also had a knack for carpentry and home improvement projects.
Ruth was very family oriented, spending many days traveling with her mother all over Wyoming, delivering Amway and visiting relatives, and as her mother aged, she was able to provide care for her in her home for extended periods of time.
Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and father Dan and Fern Porter, a sister Mary Ann McGlaughin, a brother Ed Porter, and grandchild Camryn Liggett.
Ruth is survived by her sons Larry (Jennifer) Liggett, Travis (Polly) Liggett, and Justin Liggett. Brothers Danny (Sandy) Porter, and Mike Porter. Sisters Kathy (Gene) Morgan, and Sandy (Jake) Clouse. Grandchildren Lawson, Garrett, Nakala, Kendahl, Ali, Woody (Tava), Jake, Madison (Lucas), Kaylee, Kentri, and Keytin. Great Grandchildren Jericho, Fletcher, Colson, Holland, Hays, and Romie, as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on July 8th, 2023 at 10AM at First Baptist Church, in Newcastle Wyoming.
