Ruth Johnstone

Ruth Ann Johnstone, age 75, a resident of Madison Heights for more than 44 years, formerly of Ferndale, passed away January 15, 2014 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born April 5, 1938 in Moline, IL to the late Willard W. and Ruth S. Herrick. Mrs. Johnstone retired in 2011 from ServiCar after 30 years as a bus driver. She was a member of the Madison Heights United Methodist Church for 40 years, and belonged to the Bible Study Group. She absolutely loved her handicapped friends/kids and doing puzzles. Beloved wife of the late William John "Jack" Johnstone July 26, 2010; the couple married February 11, 1957 in Ohio; loving mother of Jeffrey Deon Johnstone and Nancy Mangosh; dear sister of Russ Wilma Herrick, Karl Jan Herrick and Stan Judith Herrick; proud grandmother of Samantha Phillips, Evan Johnstone, Abigail Johnstone, Sarah Mangosh and Owen Johnstone; and great grandmother of Bryce Williams. The visitation will be Saturday 5-8 p.m., Sunday 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The service will be Monday 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rhonda Osterman officiating. The burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
