Ruth Drachenberg

Ruth P. Drachenberg, age 99, of Huntington Woods, formerly of Royal Oak and Grosse Pointe, went to join her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2008. She was born January 18, 1909, in Detroit. Mrs. Drachenberg loved spending time with family and reading the Bible. She was very involved with her church and church activities. Her family said she died with amazing grace and love. She is survived by her children, Harriette Hartigan of Ann Arbor and Phyllis the late Axel Lorin; grandchildren, John, Richard, George, Erik and Kristina; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Drachenberg, in 1962. The couple married June 4, 1937, in Detroit. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31st, 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 280 E Lincoln, Birmingham. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
