Ruth Decker

Funeral services for Ruth F. Decker, 89, will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 16th at Worden Chapel in Newcastle with Bob Decker and Rev. Wayne Wilson officiating. Visitation will be December 16th at Worden Chapel from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle following services. Pallbearers will be Saul Larson, John Dawson, Jr., Rob Soik, Jessie Thomas, William Royer and Lee Thompson. Special pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vocalist will be William Haley.

Mrs. Decker died Sunday, December 13th at Weston Manor Nursing Home in Newcastle.

She was born November 19, 1920 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Abraham and Mary Cochran Norris. The family later moved to Greybull, WY where she graduated from Greybull High School. On February 7, 1943, she married Jimmy H. Decker in Greybull. Following the War, the couple moved to Basin, WY where Mrs. Decker worked at the Big Horn Abstract and Title. The couple also lived in Riverton, WY until they settled down in Greybull to raise their family. She and her husband were the owners of the first Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in the State of Wyoming. In 2008, they moved to Newcastle, Wyoming.

Ruth was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy since 1933. She enjoyed gardening, her home, church work and most of all her family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, an infant sister, a Great-granddaughter and a very special son-in-law.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, son Robert Bob Decker and his wife Amy of Casper, WY; daughter Roberta Robin Larson of Newcastle, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
