On April 21, 2023 Roy (RD) Manning, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at his home in Osage, WY.
Roy was born January 15, 1946 in Long Beach, CA to Clyde and Maxine Manning. At the age of ten years old Tom and Jane Riach opened their hearts and home to Roy and raised him along with their two daughters Janet and Christine (Cocoa Puff). He stepped into that big brother role with great pride and lots of love for his sisters.
Roy married the love of his life, his soul mate, Laurel Curtis on May 5, 1970. Together they welcomed three children: Shenandoa, Heather (Evonne), and Tamara. Roy loved motorcycles! The faster the better! In fact, this is how he met Laurel. He was cruising along and saw her walking with a friend and turned his bike right around. It was love at first sight and they were married not too long after that. Roy and Laurel decided they wanted a better life for their children then to be raised in California so they headed to Wyoming and settled in Osage.
Roy was a great machinist and had his own shop, RD’s Custom Bikes, for years. He fixed and rebuilt many Harleys in that time and met many people who he considered friends for life. Roy was also well known at the 4 Way Gas N Go in Newcastle where he liked to drink coffee and visit with the locals and people passing through.
Roy was a member of the Hermanos Motorcycle Club where he spent some time as the Wyoming Chapter President. He helped to arrange some Toys for Tots drives amongst other things. He later joined the Bandidos Motorcycle Club where he was a member for over 20 years. He retired his colors in 2022.
Roy also had a fierce love for his family and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved playing games with them and later on loved just sitting back and watching them. He lost a part of himself in November of 2010 when his beloved granddaughter Courtney Rae (Boo) passed at the young age of 13. He has now reunited with her and his stepfather Tom who passed before him.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years Laurel of Osage WY, his son Shenandoa (Susan) Manning of Rapid City SD, daughter Heather (Ronnie) Miller of Sundance WY, daughter Tamara (Jay) Riley of Rapid City SD, grandchildren Liberty (Tedd) Leipold, McKayla (Cole) Wandler,
