Rosalee Ogilvie, age 86, of Royal Oak, formerly of Ferndale, died Monday, November 10, 2008, at Providence Hospital in Southfield. She was born November 6, 1922, in Ferndale. Mrs. Ogilvie was a lifelong resident of Ferndale and Royal Oak. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Ogilvie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and active in the Women's Guild. She was also a former Girl Scout leader. She is survived by her children, Curtis JoAnne Yanagisawa Ogilvie of Berkeley, CA, Barbara Ogilvie of Royal Oak, MI and Helen Irving Girshman Ogilvie of San Francisco, CA; and granddaughter, Natalie Rose Girshman of San Francisco, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Frederic Ogilvie, in August 1979. The couple were married on November 7, 1942, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. Visitation is Tuesday 2-8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Ogilvie will lie in state Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until time of mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. The Rev. Kenneth Kaucheck will officiate. The burial will be at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
