Ronald Matthews

Ronald Matthews, 56, of Royal Oak for 40 years, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Georgian Bloomfield in Bloomfield Hills. He was born July 29, 1952, in Detroit. Mr. Matthews was a lifetime member of the FOP and an auxiliary police officer for the Hazel Park Police Department for 20 years. He retired from Universal Macomb Ambulance after 27 years of service. He loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing and golfing. Surviving are his wife, Gail Matthews, whom he married April 1, 1972; children, Ronald S. Matthews II, Paul R. Julie Matthews, Jennifer Michael Wilusz and Ryan S. Matthews; siblings, Michael Sally, Doug, Robert Carla, Linda, Joyce Mark, Lee, Maurice Dori, Edward Debbie, Mary Larry, Howard Anna, Charles, Harry Cindy, Kevin Lori, Cindy Dan and Buzz Jenny; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; and brother, Donald.
