Roman M. Nowicki, age 87, a resident of Rochester Hills, died July 24, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. He was born March 6, 1925 in Hamtramck to the late Francis and Pearl Nowicki. Mr. Nowicki received his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University and master's from the University of Michigan. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran who served in the ETO and European African Theater, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was employed as a metallurgical engineer at Ford Motor Company from 1953-1988. He was the holder of seven Ford patents, received the Henry Ford Technical Award and was a member of the SAE. He was a longtime member of the Madison Heights Kiwanis, where he served as past president and treasurer. He also was a delegate to the National Kiwanis Convention. Roman was the beloved husband of Veronica "Ronnie". Loving father of Greg Stella, Nancy Charles Neff and Marie Joseph MacRae. Proud grandfather of Nicholas and Brian Nowicki and Joanne, Glenn and Sheila MacRae. The visitation will be Friday 3-9 p.m. and service Saturday 11 a.m. at the Wm.
