Robert P. Weber, age 76, a resident of Royal Oak since 1939, died August 30, 2009 at his home. He was born August 23, 1933 in Ferndale. Mr. Weber was a co-owner of Weber Brothers Greenhouses in Oak Park. He was a Star Scout in Boy Scouts and was selected to represent the State of Michigan to First Canadian Boy Scout National Jamboree in 1949. He also placed third in the state cross country competition in 1949. Mr. Weber was in the U.S. Navy Air Corps, where he trained pilots and navigators on Navy sea planes. He was the past president of the Detroit Allied Florist Association. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian Village Redford and the Royal Oak Parks and Recreation board for 21 years. He was a life member of the Royal Oak Lodge #464 Masons and a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, where he was an ordained elder and member of the King's Men. He was also a member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors and an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Ann Hodge Weber, whom he married February 20, 1959 at St. John Episcopal Church in Royal Oak; his children, Rev. Dr. David Linda Ford Weber, Keith Weber and Susan David, MD Walsworth; sisters, Catherine Weber-Burkett, PhD Walt Burkett and Mary Coburn; and grandchildren, Callie, Rose, Kiersten, Robert and William. Mr. Weber was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhea Ann Weber; brother, Ted Weber; and granddaughter, Grace Marie Ford-Weber. The visitation will be held Wednesday 3-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Weber will lie in state Thursday 9:30 a.m. until the time of service 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Rice and Rev. Dr. David P. Weber officiating. The burial will take place at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills.
