Robert Snoor Sr

Snoor Sr, Robert "Bob" P. age 84, of Rome City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012. He was born on August 9, 1928 in Newark, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Pearl Snoor and his loving granddaughter, Katie Cassidy. He was survived for just 12 hours by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce nee Rusk who also passed on Sunday, August 19, 2012. He married Joyce October 15, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa. He is survived by his four children, Diane Jeff Jaye of Utica, Michigan, Robert Jr. of Rome City, Indiana, Connie Richard Campbell of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Roger of Sterling Heights, Michigan, eight grandchildren Christina Russ Smith, Daniel Cassidy, Elizabeth Snoor, Tyler Campbell, Travis Campbell, Roger Snoor, Jr., Brittany and Julia Ventline, two great-grandchildren Lauren and Ryan Smith, sisters Mary George Hannum, Jean Hardy, Carol James Masters, other family members and dear friends. "Bob" proudly served his country in the U.S. Army "Screaming Eagles" 101st Airborne Division during World War II, was a graduate of Newark High School, the Ohio State University, American Institute of Bakery and was a successful business man. Bob worked at Don F. Bakery, Benner Tea Company, Big Bear, and Chatham Supermarkets, before he founded Maple Valley Inc. and R.P. Snoor Associates, in 1975 working with bakeries until his retirement in 2000. He will always be remembered for his commitment to his wife, children, and family. Bob was a loving, hard-working and caring father who always had everyone's best interest at heart. He was proud of his time growing up in Newark, Ohio, his "Buckeyes", being a skilled craftsman, and raising his family in Utica, Michigan. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00pm-9:00pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica, with a private family funeral service.
