Robert Smith

Robert O. "Bob" Smith, age 81, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Birmingham, passed away on November 15, 2009. He was born in Royal Oak on October 4, 1928 to Robert and Mary Vought Smith. He married Dorothy Jean Dawkins of Royal Oak on September 17, 1949. Bob worked for Detroit Edison for 40 years, before his retirement in 1989. He was a long time member of the Royal Oak First United Methodist Church before moving to Florida. He loved his family more than anything and was enormously proud of his children and grandchildren. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy; children, Janet Tom McGrail of Troy, Robert Barb Smith of Clarkston, David Rita Smith of Bethlehem, PA and Nancy Keith Rogman of Fenton; and grandchildren, MaryBeth, Kelly, Robert, Jeffrey, Alex, Taylor and Clark. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Don and Paul. There will be a memorial visitation Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service 12:30 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
