An informal gathering of family and friends of Tiny Roberts, 63, will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 2nd at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building on West Main Street in Newcastle, Wyoming. A memorial has been established to help pay for final expenses of Tiny and may be mailed to Dale Roberts, 300 Foxrun Drive, Gillette, WY 82716.
Mr. Roberts died Sunday, May 28th at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, Wyoming.
Tiny was born October 2, 1942 in Pomona, California the son of Joe A. and Ernestine E. Stewart Roberts. His education included an engineering degree, and a term of enlistment with the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers. In 1968 he married Linda Flipse. He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment mechanic and operator. He also spent some time as a part time Special Deputy for the Weston County Sheriff?s Department in Newcastle.
He was a member of the Tanglefoot Square Dance Club and was their official petty pants inspector. Bob loved to joke, tease and had a nickname for everyone. He loved his family immensely. Enjoying his grandchildren, he was a caring and devoted friend to countless friends.
Survivors include his wife of Newcastle, son Dale and wife Angie Roberts of Gillette, WY; Daughters Shona and husband Lee Harper of South Carolina and Shellie Roberts and fiancée? James Lamb of Newcastle; seven grandchildren; Michael, Christopher, Valerie, Elisha Nims all of California; and Gaven, Darryen and Jaxon Lamb all of Newcastle.
