Robert Thomas Price Bob was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born November 2, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the youngest of four children born to Joseph and Emilia Dyba Price. Bob grew up in Pittsburgh, and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He met his wife, Swetlana Lana Juchniwska, at the university, and graduated in 1960 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Bob served as a 2nd lieutenant for the US Army Corp of Engineers. He was stationed in Fort Campbell, KY, as a nuclear weapons engineer. Extended through the Berlin crisis, Bob married Swetlana at Fort Campbell in 1961. Robert and Swetlana moved to the Detroit area in 1962, where Bob started his 35-year career with General Motors. He and Swetlana moved to Shelby Township, MI, in 1972, where they raised their family. He obtained his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University in Detroit. Bob was a passionate fisherman. He and Swetlana spent the last 10 years wintering in Florida and summering in Michigan, where he was able to indulge his passion year-round through freshwater and saltwater fishing. Bob fought lymphoma valiantly for the past two years. He succumbed to lymphoma on February 28, 2011, surrounded by his family at his home on Hutchinson Island, FL. Bob leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Swetlana; 2 sisters, Rita Hahne and Dorothy Boyle; a brother, Paul Price; a son, Phillip Price; 2 daughters, Jennifer and Claudine; and 8 grandchildren. Bob was a gentleman's gentleman. He was admired by his family, and will be missed by many. Visitation is Sunday 2:00pm to 8:00pm with a Parish Lead Rosary at 7:00 pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road 3 blks east of VanDyke Utica. Monday in state at 10:30 am until time of funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Kieran Catholic Church, 53600 Mound Road, Shelby Township. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
