POLI, Robert J. age 72, of Sterling Heights passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 after a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. There's no better phrase to describe him other than "The Ultimate Trooper". Bob was one of the oldest survivors of what is known to be a childhood disease. He was born October 15, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Bruno and Catherine Poli. He graduated from Nativity High School. Beloved husband of Ann Louise nee Hargreaves Poli. Proud father of Robert M. Poli, Elisabeth Anne "Lisa"Brad Martin, and Kristina Louise David Kenel. Bob has seven grandchildren: David, Lindsey, Alixaundrea, Michael, Paige, Kaitlyn and Violet. Their grandfather never failed to entertain them with his funny jokes just as his father, Bruno did. He is survived by his brother Don Sandy Poli, sister Kay Poli, and sister-in-law of Terry Poli. He was predeceased by his brothers Charles Linda and Jerry Poli. He was a loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. He had a wide range of creativity from his photography, to his painting, and drawings. He won a archery competition at LTV when he was younger and not so sick. He enjoyed the little things in life from playing solitaire on his computer, to chess with his grandchildren, taking family camping trips to Higgins Lake State Park, hunting, and watching deer. Bob loved watching his children grow up and appreciate sports just as he did. When Bob was young, he used to love to work on cars while teaching others his method step by step. He was a regular "Mr. Fix it". Bob had a unique sense of humor and a contagious laugh, and always enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends. But most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. A prayer from his family: Thank you God for this wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and during this holy week we pray you will take him to heaven where he will finally be able to breathe easy, Amen.
