Robert E. Pearce, age 77, a resident of Royal Oak for more than 60 years, died November 9, 2009 at Arden Court Nursing Home in Sterling Heights. He was born July 12, 1932 in Willmar, MN. Mr. Pearce was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Peace Action. He worked as a printer with the Daily Tribune until the 1990's. He also worked in the print shop for Comerica Bank. He is survived by his sons, Robert W. Pearce of Royal Oak and Matthew D. Pearce of Valencia, CA; siblings, Charles V. Gracie A. Pearce of Macomb Township, Douglas E. Evelyn Pearce of Ellijay, GA and Donna M. Charles McClusky of Clarkston; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. Ward Pearce, on July 14, 2008; and parents, Charles and Ruth Pearce. The visitation will be held Friday 2-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Pearce will lie in state Saturday 9:30 a.m. until the time of service 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1841 Pinecrest, Ferndale, with the Rev. Cathi Feldpausch officiating. The burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
