Robert B. Heffernan, 98, of Brighton, and formerly of Royal Oak, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born Jan. 13, 1910, in Geneva, NY. Mr. Heffernan resided in Royal Oak from 1950-2005. He was employed with Associated Electric in Royal Oak for 34 years. Mr. Heffernan was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak and the Clawson-Troy Elks Club in Troy. He was an usher and ran the lector program at St. MaryÆs and was a member of the Bishop Gallagher Knights of Columbus Council in Royal Oak. He also was the former secretary of the Board of Directors for the Oakland County Food Bank for many years. Mr. Heffernan was predeceased Dec. 21, 1981 by his wife, Thelma Heffernan. Surviving are his children, Robert B. Pamela Heffernan of Ogden, UT and Bonnie J. Ralph Davis of Brighton; brother, Joseph Heffernan of Geneva, NY; grandchildren, Tiffany Woodward, Erica Hernandez, Andrea Davis, Kyle Heffernan and Heather Seyfarth; and six great grandchildren.
