Robert Dotson

Robert E. Dotson, age 84, a resident of Royal Oak, died January 5, 2012 at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak. He was born February 17, 1927 in Detroit to the late Everett and Jessie Dotson. Mr. Dotson lived in south Oakland County most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a pharmacist mate in the Philippines. He retired as a brick mason in 1989. He was a member of the American Legion Post #253 and the Metropolitan Club Spirit #22 both located in Royal Oak. He is survived by his children, Robert E. Mary Dotson, Jr. of Bailey, CO, Lynda Tom Campbell of Royal Oak, Gail Chuck Baldino of Dallas, TX and Diane Gary McGillivray of Madison Heights; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Alice J. "Sally" Dotson, on December 18, 2010; and daughter, Mary Ann Dotson. The visitation will be Monday 3-8 p.m. and service Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with the Rev.
