Robert Cunningham

Robert R. Cunningham, 82, a lifelong resident of Royal Oak, died March 27, 2008, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Royal Oak. Mr. Cunningham was a World War II U.S. Army veteran who served in the European Theatre. He retired from Detroit Edison. Mr. Cunningham was a big band and jazz enthusiast. Surviving are his wife, Mercedes M. Cunningham, whom he married Sept. 17, 1955; children, Robert R. Dinna Cunningham, Jr. of Northport, AL, Cheryl L. William Mathewson Cunningham of Ann Arbor and Cynthia T. Shaun Huls of Traverse City; and grandchildren Colin Huls and Erin Huls. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles W. and Catherine L. Cunningham; and siblings, Betty Mastrianni and William Cunningham.
