Robert Badyna, age 78, a resident of Royal Oak since 1964, formerly of Dryden, MI, died August 26, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. He was born October 20, 1934 in Detroit to the late Stanley and Emily Badyna. Mr. Badyna was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 1997, after 36 years of service, as a facilitating engineer from the Chrysler Corporation. He was a member of the Chrysler 300 Club, Walter P. Chrysler Club WPC Club, Lotus Club International and the Dodge Brothers Club. He loved collecting and working on cars, but most of all he loved his family. He was the beloved husband of Bernadette M. Kurczynski Badyna and the late Mary L. Campbell Badyna; loving father of Tamara M. Badyna and Mike Badyna; dear brother of the late James Badyna; and proud grandfather of Michael, Daniel and Dylan. The visitation will be Thursday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Badyna will lie in state Friday 10 a.m. until the time of Mass 10:30 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Clawson. Burial at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Oakland Township.
