Rita Allman

Rita A. Allman, age 89, of Traverse City, formerly of South Lyon and Royal Oak, died July 1, 2008 in Traverse City. She was born July 28, 1918 in Detroit. Mrs. Allman was a Royal Oak resident from 1918 until 1985. She was a 1936 graduate of St. Mary High School. She was employed at JacobsonÆs in the 1970Æs and 1980Æs. Mrs. Allman was a member of the Berkley Travel Club Vagabonds and active at St. MaryÆs Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was also excellent at sewing, needlepoint, crocheting and knitting. Mrs. Allman is survived by her children, Marilyn Lynn Allman of Eastpointe, John Peggy Allman of Shelby Township, Elizabeth Brian Vos of Traverse City, Alice Allman of Ferndale, Edwin Laurie Allman of St. Clair Shores and Laura Allman of Oakland, CA; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Allman, on June 6, 1997. The couple were married April 13, 1940 in Royal Oak.
