Richard Zanichelli

Richard J. Zanichelli, age 85, a resident of Madison Heights, passed away February 26, 2014 at Evergreen Health and Living Center in Southfield. He was born June 18, 1928 in LaSalle, IL to the late Premo and Marie Zanichelli. Mr. Zanichelli was a member of the Michigan Woodworkers' Guild and several other woodworking societies. He used his master woodworking skills to make toys for childrens' hospitals. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. Zanichelli; loving father of Catherine John Kay and David Denise Zanichelli; and proud grandfather of Alex, Bryan, Scott and Joey. The visitation will be Friday 2-8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Zanichelli will lie in state Saturday 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass 11 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Madison Heights. The burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy. Memorials to the Michigan Humane Society or American Cancer Society are appreciated.
