Richard Ellison

Richard E. Ellison, age 85, a lifelong resident of Royal Oak, died November 4, 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born May 13, 1925 in Royal Oak. Mr. Ellison was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ellison; children, Mark Claudia Ellison, Timothy Karen Ellison, Anne George Kopy, Paul Cathy Ellison and Jean Tom Barrett; sisters, Alice Schulte and Peggy Cowdin; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Ellison. The visitation will be Saturday 3-8 p.m. and Sunday 12-8 p.m. with a Sunday afternoon Rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Ellison will lie in state Monday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
