Rev. Charles Zeeb

ZEEB, Father Charles Michael. age 79, a senior priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit, died after a short illness on Wednesday, September 9, 2009; at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township; where he had helped as a chaplain for many years. Ordained a priest on June 2, 1956, Father Charles M. Zeeb served at Immaculate Heart of Mary; Blessed Sacrament Cathedral; St. Leonard; St. James; St. Joseph Erie; St. Matthew/St. Rita/Ss. Peter & Paul in North Branch. He had been pastor of St. Isidore Parish, Macomb; from 1987 to 1992. In addition to being a chaplain at St. Joseph/Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Father Zeeb was helping out at St. Kieran Shelby Twp and St. Peter Mt. Clemens parishes, as well as ministry to the residents of St. George Tower, Clinton Township. Father Zeeb is survived by his sisters, Margaret Frank Novess, Rose Ann Williams, both of Jackson, MI, and Doris Dawkins of Williamsburg, New Mexico; sister-in-law Sandra Zeeb, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Zeeb, and brother Walter Zeeb Jr. Father Zeeb will be waked at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road 3 blks east of VanDyke Utica, on Saturday, September 12th from 4:00pm-8:00pm; on Sunday, September 13th his body will be transferred and lie in state at St. Isidore Church, 18201 23 Mile NW corner Romeo Plank Macomb, from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. His body will be in state at the church on Monday, September 14th from 10:00 a.m. until his celebration of the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place on Tuesday, September 15th at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, North Branch, Michigan; with a gathering at Ss. Peter & Paul Church starting at 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. burial. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the family; to St. Isidore Parish, or to the Fr. Charles M. Zeeb Endowment Fund for the education of seminarians for the Detroit Archdiocese.
