Born January 2, 1918 on a tobacco farm in Kentucky. Ralph lived in Royal Oak since 1956 and retired from Ambassador Steel in Detroit. Beloved husband of Marion for over 61 years. Loving father of Lisa Douglas Anderson and Paul Gail Shepherd. Proud grandfather of Morgan Anderson, Ian Anderson and Kasie Berry. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters. Mr. Shepherd was a proud WWII Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Oak Leaf Cluster. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak since 1957 and a member of the Royal Oak American Legion Post 253. Visitation Wednesday 2-9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E. of Woodward, Royal Oak. Funeral Thursday, in state 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak. Memorials to the church are appreciated.
