Rachel Heydens

Rachel Marie nee Vyncke Heydens age 84, a lifetime resident of Sterling Heights and Utica area, died at Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Troy on July 19, 2005. She was born September 19, 1920; in Molinghem, France; the daughter of Leon and Julia Vyncke. She married 'Jerry' George Julius Gerald Heydens on April 29, 1944 in Utica, Michigan. Mrs. Heydens was a lifetime member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, and Altar Society member. She was an avid card player, enjoyed cooking and traveling. Mrs. Heydens is survived by her children Irene J. Larry Butala and Donald G. Barbara Heydens. Grandchildren Donald Jr., Scott, and Melissa Heydens, Michelle Bret Carlson, Michael Jr. Wendy and Jeffrey Montgomery, and Lynn Michael Pode. Great Grandchildren Zachary, Rachel, and Michael III Montgomery, Nicole and Bret Jr. Carlson. Twin sister of Achille 'Ace' Evelyn Vyncke. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 23, 2005; at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Utica; with Father Fred Kalaj officiating. Visitation at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica on Thursday 2:00pm-9:00pm with a K of C Rosary at 7:00pm, and Friday 2:00pm-9:00pm with an Altar Society Rosary at 3:00pm and Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Utica.
