R. James Molloy, age 96, of Royal Oak for 55 years, died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was born July 11, 1912, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, to the late Thomas and Elsie Fennel Molloy. Mr. Molloy worked at the following companies: Curtis Publication, sales; B.F. Goodrich, sales; American Motors, 24 years; Chrysler Corp. and retired from Visual Services. He was a philanthropist, supporting Shrine Schools and Queens University in Kingston, Ont. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie M. Cranston Molloy, on March 19, 2007. The couple were wed July 15, 1939, in Toronto, Canada. A daughter, Maureen Chekal, and siblings Mary M. Molloy, George, Fred, Tom and Fr. Jack Molloy are also deceased. Surviving are his children, Robert Elizabeth of Madison, Conn. and Richard Patricia of Beverly Hills, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation Tuesday 10-11 a.m. with a 10:45 a.m. prayer service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks.
