Peter Ardwin

Peter J. Ardwin, age 84, a resident of Tamarac, FL, formerly of Southfield, died February 23, 2011 at his home. He was born May 6, 1926 in Detroit. Mr. Ardwin was the founder, president and CEO of Ardwin-Hayes from 1950 until his retirement in 2003. He loved his work as an ice cream warehouse owner. He was a self-made man. He is survived by his children, Kathy Grech of Royal Oak and David Ardwin of Keego Harbor; four siblings; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. The visitation will be Monday 2-8 p.m. and service Tuesday 10 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Gateman officiating, at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks.
