WARD, Paul Gilbert. Died at his home in Punta Gorda, Florida on May 25, 2006. He was 63 years old. Paul was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 30, 1942. He attended Pershing High School. He loved cars, and shortly after high school, went to work for Chrysler Corporation, where he worked for 37 years. Paul worked his way up from the assembly line to the level of supervisor and manager. His work took him to far away places including Italy, Austria, Argentina, and Germany where he was instrumental in opening new plants. He loved his work and the friends. His passion for his work was exceeded only by his love for his family. He was a loving father, brother, and doting grandfather who never forgot birthdays or special occasions. His other interests included motorcycling, flying, boating, and of course, cars. He was preceded in death by his father, George Ward; his mother, Charlotte Ward; siblings, Vivian Olsen, George Ward, William Ward, Doris McKenzie, and Sandra Dereszynski; and nephew, Ward Olsen. Dear father of Cynthia Cann and Paul Ward D.D.S., M.S. Grandfather of Dyer Cann, Jesse Cann, Chase Cann, Michelle Ward, and Erika Ward. Brother of James Ward, Norman Ward, and Roszella Hallmark. Also surviving is his former wife, Sarah, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road 3 blks east of VanDyke Utica, Michigan; on Friday, June 9, 2006; from 5:30 p.m. until memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006; a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. will be at St. Kieran Catholic Church, 53600 Mound Road Between 24 Mile Road and 25 Mile RoadShelby Township, Michigan. The burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to help find cures for any of the following diseases: breast cancer, colon cancer, leukemia, Alzheimer's, heart disease, or scoliosis. These were all diseases that affected Paul's family.
