Paul McCauley

Paul E. McCauley tall Paul. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Age 73 of Sterling Heights. passed away on January 7, 2010. He was born September 26, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. McCauley retired frorm the U.S.Civil Service /Selfridge and U. S. Air Force. He is survied by his wife of 52 years, Eileen nee Gottlieb McCauley, children; Kathleen Jeff Clark, Peter Anne McCauley, Karen Douglas Rooker, David McCauley, Amy John Hill and Dr. Kenneth Amy McCauley, Grandchildren; Courtney, Andrew, Jillian, Sarah, Ally, Amy, Keane, Khai and Cataleya., sister; Jane Singleton of Long Island, New York. Also survived by all his nieces and nephews and all of his volleyball friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Family request that in lieu of flowers or donations that you give someone you love a hug. Second to the love of his family and friends was the sport of volleyball. He competed in multiple sports in high school before turning to volleyball. He then played competitive volleyball for most of his adult life, having begun the sport while serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed in England. While there, he participated on a select team that represented the U.S. Air Force in a match against the English National Volleyball team. After moving to Michigan, he played on some of the Detroit area's most competitive volleyball teams. He also played on the national level at the U. S. Senior Olympics and at the USA Volleyball National Open championships, twice helping his team to a national title and earning Most Valuable Player honors in his team's age division over 55 at the 1995 USAV National Championships
