Paul C. Herridge, age 82, a resident of Royal Oak, died October 22, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born August 2, 1927 in Detroit. Mr. Herridge was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He received his BS from Wayne State University and his master's from the University of Detroit. He was a science teacher at Isaac Newton Public School in Detroit for 30 years. In the summers, he worked for the State of Michigan Agricultural Department as an inspector. Mr. Herridge loved classical music and was a violinist with the Detroit Edison Orchestra in high school. He also enjoyed traveling around the United States and Canada. He is survived by his wife, Dale Herridge; children, Chris Herridge, Stephen Linda Herridge, Julie Jeffrey Gress, David Mary Herridge, Greg Melissa Herridge and Kathleen Peter Masalskis; brothers, Bill Herridge and John Herridge; grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Justin, Benjamin, Nathalie and Brendan; great grandson, Christopher; and his faithful loving companion, Sweetie. The visitation will be held Sunday 2-6 p.m. with a 3 p.m. scripture service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Herridge will lie in state Monday 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Columban Catholic Church in Birmingham.
