Paul M. Chutis, age 60, a resident of Madison Heights since 1992, formerly of Livonia, died September 12, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born November 28, 1948 in Detroit. Mr. Chutis attended Sacred Heart Seminary and Wayne State University. He worked as a referee in Oakland County for over 20 years for the baseball, football, basketball and volleyball leagues. He was a substitute teacher in the Royal Oak and Berkley public school systems. He was a security coordinator at Joe Panian Chevrolet. Mr. Chutis was also an avid Tigers fan. He is survived by his wife, Annette Chutis, whom he married June 26, 1992 at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Royal Oak. He is also survived by a sister, Laurieann Chutis of Island Lake, IL. The visitation will be held Thursday 4-8 p.m. and Friday 1-8 p.m. with a Friday 7:30 p.m. scripture service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Chutis will lie in state Saturday 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 S. Lafayette, in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Thomas Kramer officiating. The burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
