Patrick C. Shannon

Memorial services for Patrick C. Shannon, 82, will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 8th at Upton United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Spencer officiating. Military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Post #9758 of Upton, Wyoming. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to either V.F.W. Post # 9758, or the Upton E.M.T.?s.
Mr. Shannon died Tuesday, December 4th at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, Wyoming.
Patrick Clarence Shannon was born April 1, 1925 at Gillette, Wyoming the son of Herbert Jay and Myrle Elizabeth nee: Riley Shannon. From 1943 to 1946 he served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On October 25, 1947, he married Joan Gustafson; the couple has been married for sixty years. Pat was raised on the family ranch at Rocky Point, Wyoming. In 1957 he ranched in partnership with his brother Delbert ?Mick? Shannon until 1964. The family moved to Upton in that year where Pat managed the Upton COOP for fifteen years. He was a truck driver for Dan Hart for several years.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife of Upton, two sons, Donovan J. Loretta Shannon of Greybull, WY, and Rick J. Wrayanne Shannon of Sheridan, WY; and Sister Mary L. Davis of Newcastle. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a son Terry L. Shannon, and two brothers Meredith C. Shannon and Delbert I. Shannon.
